This is indeed the final push! LLS set an October 22 deadline to collect the final 8% of our overall $4,000 goal. So far it’s been a great season training in New York and Washington, D.C. Silence still emanates from Ed Norton’s camp, and the training is on pace with a good 20-mile workout along the Hudson this morning.

Some of the funds you donated were put to work in the service of uncovering promising new cures. Earlier this summer, LLS forged a partnership with Shape Pharmaceuticals earlier to bring a new therapy for cutaneous T-Cell lymphoma into clinical development.

This therapy was discovered by a team of researchers that includes James Brander, M.D., a recipient of LLS funds. Dr. Brander of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute founded Shape in 2008 with Mazitschek, Ph.D of Massachusetts General Hospital and previously of Harvard University and the Broad Institute of Harvard University and MIT with funding from a venture capital firm that specializes in health care investing.
